Community Learning Research Fellows

In the Community Learning Research Fellows (CLRF) Trinity students collaborate with a Hartford-area community partner and a faculty sponsor on a research or creative project that benefits the partner’s organization.

Accepted students will enroll in a weekly seminar (for 0.5 credits) and an independent study/course/internship/thesis with a faculty sponsor (for 0.5 or more credits). Fellows also attend Common Hour events, and publicly present their projects at the end of the semester. Each project will receive a $250 expense grant to support the work, and faculty sponsors receive a $1,000 expense grant or stipend for participating and supervising one student and an additional $500 per student if working with a pair or small group.

In Community Learning Research Fellows project students might:

• conduct interviews with participants on their experiences with a program
• create charts and maps to illustrate the impact of a public policy issue
• design a public history project to tell a story about change over time
• expand on a research idea that emerged in a prior community-learning course

Students may apply individually or as a small team, and must either propose their own project in collaboration with a Hartford-area partner or choose from the options below.  Applications are due here by March 25th.
